At 21 years old, Daniy is studying Film and Digital Media at Eastern Washington University in Cheney. Before transferring, Daniy earned an Associate’s degree in Architecture through Spokane Community College after discovering it offered the program they were looking for. That step made higher education accessible and allowed exploration of different interests, including a future minor in psychology.
Daniy hopes to become a writer and one day share their own story through film and storytelling. Education represents both passion and protection—a creative path forward, but also a safety plan for long-term stability.
While community college felt affordable with scholarships and financial aid, financial barriers remain a challenge now. Without the ability to work, finding ways to cover expenses has become difficult. Even so, graduating remains the goal. For Daniy, completing a degree means having options, security, and the foundation to pursue a meaningful creative career.
