My name is Jhovana Alexandra Cota. I decided to study English classes at YVC. I did it to give my son a future and grow as a person, and I would feel very proud to graduate from a community college. I am very positive about studying.

In my country, Mexico, I studied as a social worker for 4 years and one year of service. My goal is to transfer my career and be able to work on it here in the United States, my biggest barrier is the schedule, and my child. Although my mother helps me take care of my son, I leave very tired from working and continuing studying.
The financial issue is another barrier, and I would like there to be more scholarships and more support for those of us who want to continue studying. For me, if college were free, it would be a great help, it would be a great opportunity, and I could continue studying. I have many friends and acquaintances who would like to continue studying.
Doing work study at school is a great opportunity because I would study and work right there. The school, that is why I ask the person who reads my testimony to open doors and support us so we can study, to help us with the material we need to be able to study, and to help us with student credits.
