My name is Kenia, I am from El Salvador. I have been in the US for a year. We came here for the American Dream, the same idea that many immigrate here for; to improve their own family’s economy, new opportunities and a better life.
Education has been a major influence in my life, and I think it is the basis of success. I want to become a veterinarian. I regularly attend this Spanish/English club where I met an American lady who has helped me connect with the right people. Through her, I was able to attend online classes at a college in Yakima where I obtained my GED. I think community college is important and beneficial to our community.
